• Using Azure (Global) CDN to accelerate streaming playback

Please follow below steps to create and configure your Azure CDN.

1. Create Azure CDN

  • Search 'Front Door and CDN profiles' in Azure Marketplace to create
  • Select 'Explore other offerings'
  • Select 'Azure CDN Standard from Microsoft (classic)' and continue
  • Input your cdn name
  • Change 'Pricing tier' to 'Standard Edgio'
  • Checked the 'Create a new CDN endpoint'
  • Input your CDN endpoint name
  • Change 'Origin type' to 'Custom origin'
  • Input your origin hostname (should be hostname of Stream Server)
  • Change 'Query string caching behavior' to 'Ignore query strings'
  • Let's create it

2. Configure Custom Domain for endpoint

After setting up a custom domain, you need to enable custom domain HTTPS to ensure that the custom domain can function properly. Without enabling custom domain HTTPS, the custom domain won't work as expected.

3. Replace the StreamEndPointUrl Environment variable of the BME API Server (name starts with "bme-api-app") with the value set to the custom domain name mentioned above.
